Debut КМZ 25-40
A new manufacturer of mobile cranes has emerged in Ukraine (according to AUTO-Consulting).
At the “Comuntech-2021” exhibition, the debut of the new crane manufacturer, KMZ, took place. Do not confuse it with the well-known motorcycle brand. In this case, KMZ stands for Kyiv Mechanical Plant. The enterprise is new but intends to actively conquer the market in the segment of 25-ton mobile cranes.
As the chassis, KMZ chose the Chinese SITRAK, on which a crane installation of 25 tons with a boom length of up to 40 meters was mounted. The cabin design of the mobile crane also resembles a Chinese model, but KMZ does not hide that a Chinese analog was used as the basis. However, localization of production in Ukraine made it possible to reach a price of such a mobile crane at 5 million hryvnias.
In the future plans, KMZ aims to develop the production and range of mobile cranes, as well as to master the production of dump truck bodies. As reported by AUTO-Consulting, KMZ’s commercial director Eugene Molodchyk, an engineering center of specialists has been created in Kyiv, who previously worked in the production of mobile cranes and other lifting equipment. And the presented first sample of the KMZ 25-40 mobile crane is just the first step. The plant plans to produce other models of mobile cranes that will be in demand in the market.
We can only wish success to the new manufacturer who decided to enter the market from such a complex segment. Perhaps the former glory of Ukrainian mobile crane manufacturers will be revived after all.
